Easy MCS Installer in the news...
An Easy MCS trained installer, Sustainable Renewable Technologies has been featured in Solar Power Business magazine and Solar Power Portal for the recent development of an Iconic Pyramid Building.
The Pyramid Building featured above has been fitted with 48kW of Solar PV panels which will generate an estimated annual output of 41,807 kWh/pa and carbon savings of 36.346 tonnes/pa.
The small town of Loadhead, located just south of Edinburgh, now boasts a unique environmental landmark – the Pyramid Building. The huge pyramid- shaped open plan office has become a local feature over the years thanks to its bold design. After taking up residence in the iconic pyramid building, local firm Survey Solutions Scotland explored the idea of making the office even more unique, by installing a solar array.
Tom King, Managing Director of SRT, commented: “When we showed the proposed project to the Brendan Cantwell, Managing Director of ASC Scaffolding, he had some choice words about the complexity of the project – just the scaffolding design required for this project was a work of art in itself.” With the scaffolding up, the project was completed and commissioned on time and to budget. The innovative solar solution will not only stop the emission of around 36 tonnes of CO2 from entering the atmosphere every year, but it will also provide a total benefit of around £10,000 a year to Survey Solution Scotland. Tom King concluded: “When I first saw the Pyramid Building I was determined that it was a challenge that I wanted to undertake to demonstrate the expertise behind SRT from design to installation. However, I also started my working life at the nearby Lady Victoria Colliery as an apprentice surveyor, aged 16, and later became a planner for Bilston Glen Colliery. I am now working on the site for environmental reasons so I’m very happy to say I’ve moved on from the black stuff to the green stuff.”
