What is MCS Accreditation?
MCS Accreditation shows that an organisation has been assessed by an independent MCS Certification body and has show that they meet all the requirements of the MCS. This includes showing that the business complies with the quality standards of MCS along with the competency of those installing within the organisation.
The Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) is an independent scheme that certifies microgeneration products and installers in accordance with a set of quality standards. It is designed to provide a minimum level of protection and assurance to consumers as well as a sign of quality to be boasted by installers who have achieved MCS Accreditation.
The MCS Scheme therefore provides renewable consumers with a guarantee that the installer they use and the product they choose have met a high minimum standard which has been assessed by an independant MCS Certification body. By choosing an MCS Certified Installer and MCS Accredited product this allows consumers and businesses to access financial incentives including The Renewable Heat Incentive, Green Deal and Feed in Tariffs.
MCS has also become a sign of quality in the commercial and social sectors with many tenders now requiring MCS Accreditation as a minimum standard from an Installer bidding for Renewable projects. Sales & Marketing organisations involved in the MCS Process are now also required to meet the Standards of MCS & RECC to provide further protection to consumers.
