Green Deal Oversight Body confirmed
The DECC have confirmed two new developments within the Green Deal.
The Green Deal oversight body will be Gemserv who also administer the Microgeneration Certification Scheme. The oversight body will be responsible for the registration of Green Deal assessors, Green Deal installers and Green Deal providers and also monitoring compliance with the Green Deal code of practice.
The services will begin in early august in ahead of the launch of the Green Deal in October.
The Green Deal Ombudsman and Investigation Service will be provided by Ombudsman Services Ltd and REAL. They will offer a free service for customers who cannot reach an agreement with their Green Deal Provider over a complaint.
It has also been confirmed by that the Department of Energy and Climate Change will fund all registration and oversight costs associated with the Green Deal during the first 2 years.
